The guest speaker at the year’s final Club Otago lunch, scheduled for Thursday, 29th October, will be Governor-General Sir Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Mateparae, GNZM, QSO, KStJ. The former Chief of Defence Force, Sir Jerry enlisted in the Regular Force of the New Zealand Army in 1972 and graduated from the Portsea Officer Cadet School in 1976. He served in both battalions of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment and in the New Zealand Special Air Service. His military experience included two peace…

Our first Club Otago guest of 2016 will be New Zealand’s Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy DNZM CBE. Dame Susan will be with us on Wednesday, 6th April. The four times winner of the World Open squash title (1985, 1987, 1990 & 1992) and eight times winner of the British Open, she surprisingly retired in 1992 while holding the Australian, British, French, Hong Kong, Irish, New Zealand, Scottish, Swedish and World titles.
